OFFICIAL GUIDE TO THE MILITARY COMPOSITION OF THE REPUBLIC OF GREENLAND

[SHOWN ABOVE: 501ST AIRBORNE RANGER SOLDIER IN STANDARD ROG BDUs]

[DECLASSIFIED BY ORDER OF THE IMPERIAL SENATE]

INTRODUCTION

The Republic Of Greenland maintains one of the most well-trained military forces in the Northern Atlantic, with a total estimated troop count of approximately 615,000 across all branches of service, including non-combatant personnel. The Imperial Army, also sometimes referred to as the Imperial Guard, consists of three separate armies: 1st Army (consisting of 200,000 men total), 2nd Army (consisting of 200,000 men total) and 3rd Army (reserve forces, consisting of 150,000 men total.)

Thanks to extremely high patriotism, a culture of military service, and required military service in order to be allowed to vote (however, other civil service opportunities may also grant this privilege), the Republic Of Greenland maintains a massive standing army, roughly 2.4% of the population spanning the empire.

The infantry forces of the Republic Of Greenland, 12 divisions strong (excluding Marines, special forces, and airborne units) are among the most highly trained in the world, with 8 months of training and over 2,500 rounds per month fired at the range by each individual infantryman (for a total of 20,000 rounds per trainee), as well as training on several standard ROG firearms such as the M98 Carbine, MA99 Automatic Rifle, and MA90 Squad Automatic Weapon, among others.

On top of basic firearms training, most recruits already have prior experience on firearms of the sort thanks the lax gun laws in the Republic Of Greenland, which encourage parents to teach their children to shoot. As of August 2099, 59% of the population owns at least one firearm. Trainees are also expected to learn the handling and mastery of other weapons not used by the Republic Of Greenland, such as the AK-113 and similar Kalashnikov-platform rifles.

Every infantry soldier in the Republic Of Greenland must have a minimum of 80% accuracy on their rifles and 70% on pistols. This equates to 16/20 rounds and 14/20 rounds, respectively. On top of this, soldiers are trained on squad, personal, and mass infantry tactics. They also engage in physical fitness routines daily, keeping them in top shape.

Overall, the basic training standards of infantrymen alone, not even including the extra 3 months at Airborne School for airborne units, 4-year college requirement and 6 months at Officer's Candidate School (OCS) for officers, 6 months at Underwater Combat Operations Training (UCOT) for Marines and 8 months at BUD/S for Naval Special Operations, leaves little question as to the power and skill of each and every soldier within the Republic Of Greenland.
