Instructions

- Fill your cup ¾ of the way with ice.
- Pour the tequila and orange juice into the glass.
- Pour the grenadine gently down the side of the glass and let it settle for a few seconds.
- Enjoy the layered colors before stirring.
- They will turn into a gorgeous blood orange color.
- Top with a cherry, orange slice, and maybe one of those umbrellas, and enjoy!
Note: Although the drink is pretty with the grenadine on the bottom, please stir the co*cktail before drinking it, so the flavors blend.

This recipe is best enjoyed immediately. However, leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container.

Expert Tip: If you don't have a jigger, use a shot glass to measure the ingredients.
- Pulp-free orange juice works best unless you love pulp in your OJ.
- If using large glasses, add about ½ an ounce of grenadine and another 2 ounces of orange juice.

For this recipe, I recommend using Blanco tequila. However, you could also use a reposado or Anejo tequila.
Can I make this recipe without alcohol?
Yes! To make a mocktail version, simply omit the tequila and increase the amount of orange juice to 1 ½ cups.
Do I have to use fresh orange juice?
No, you can use store-bought orange juice. However, fresh orange juice will taste best.
What other fruit juices can I use in this recipe?
In addition to orange juice, grapefruit juice and cranberry juice would also be good in this recipe.
What is the difference between a Tequila Sunrise co*cktail and a tequila sunset?
